Take That

0 comments

L-R: Jason Orange, Mark Owen, Gary Barlow and Howard Donald

Take That - does this sound familiar to you? You might have heard this before if you're in the same generation as I am. Do you know Robbie Williams? Yes, he was one of the member in this popular boy-band back in the 90s. But he pulled himself out before the other members officially declared the splitting. Their famous hits are "How deep is your love", "Back for Good", "Never forget", "Promises", "Babes" and etc.

I'm so glad that one of my childhood favourite band is back in action. The long awaited new album "Beautiful World" will be out on the 27th Nov. The debut single called "Patience" can be reviewed at here.

Wonder which is the next band that will be reunion after missing for some time. Westlife and Backstreet Boys are still exist in the world! What's next? 911? Boyzone? NKOTB? Spice Girls?

Mich has been posted this site on her blog for quite some time but I had never take the initiative to visit this site until last week. I was too bored with the Chinese songs that have been played on my play list for thousand times. Needed something different. I'm more interested in listening to English songs at this moment, don't bother it's the latest hits or some oldies.

To my surprise, this site really have most of the songs that I was looking for and it is indeed very fast when loading the songs. You will never felt that you're listening it online. The feel is just the same as you're listening from the files that have been saved on your pc.

Really thanks to the creator of this site!! Two thumbs up!

P/s: If anyone is interested on the songs that are playing on my play list, I'm willing to share out this play list for all of you. Click here for my play list. Enjoy!

Sigh...things don't seem like working fine with me lately. What I wish had never happened. What I never wish will always happen. After the SC incident, I'm already quite fed up with how the things worked.
Since it's almost the end of the year now, it means something need to be done to review what you've done for the past 12 months. It's the PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL time again. There is some slight change on this year's performance appraisal. Last year, when I just joined the company, I had my performance appraisal session directly with my boss. There were nothing much to review that time as I just joined the company for 4 months only. Since now that I've been working in this company for 1 year and 4 months. There must be more things to review this time as I had been put in different projects. I really don't mind having a session with my boss, but before reviewing with my boss, I'll have to do this with the person I "love" the most - the @$$hol3 PM that I used to complain about.
When I received the news that we have to review it with the team leader first before reviewing with the boss, the first question that I asked was "Who is my team leader?". I was abit relieved when someone mentioned my senior's name. I told my colleagues that for sure I'll die if I've to do the session with the PM first as I had been fighting with him throughout the project. For sure he'll put some bad comments about me. I was praying that I will only have to do the review with my senior and not him.
Oh gosh, when I came home to check my mail just now, I received a mail from this PM regarding the performance session. Sigh...really spoilt my mood.

No updates from me lately? Well, nothing much special happened to me lately. Was just a bit busy on the last weekend as I had to travel to Port Klang since last Wednesday till last Monday to support one of the customer there. The project shouldn't be difficult, but I do not have the experience on doing any migration, I made mistakes along the way and always got problems here and there. I was lucky though, I always have someone to support and help me to walk through this path and someone to guide me along the way. Thanks to LKC for all the supports that he gave. Thanks to Tarmizee for all the advices and helps that he gave. Really appreciate that very much. I did not just gain experience on my work, I gained experience in communicating with different level of people. It was a very good exposure to me to work on this project but am I really suitable to work in Basis? Do I like Basis? This is a very big question that I keep on asking myself. I'm not very sure honestly. Reason why I have all these kind of questions suddenly pop-up is because Basis is a very stressful job. You're chasing against the time. If you're given 10 hours to finish the job, that's it. Basis can be a very relaxing job if there isn't any problems in the system. It will be the most stressful job when there is something goes wrong in the system. Who will be the first to blame when thing goes wrong? That is Basis. Who screwed the system? Basis.
What is on my mind now? To continue as a Basis or try other area like ABAP (programming) or Functional instead? Hmm...totally stay out of SAP? Lately I've been thinking alot on having my own business. What kind of business that I would like to own? A nursery cum kindergarten in Klang Valley, a futsal court in Ipoh, a kopitiam in some business centre or the best part is to be a full-time housewife. Which one is actually the closest to my realization? None!! Sigh...better go to sleep earlier and have a sweet dreams...hehehe...good night everyone!

Bloody broadband!

0 comments

Does anyone notice that the Streamyx quality is getting worse lately? I do. I'm currently subsribe to the 512kbps speed but I feel like I'm using the dial-up like the olden days. I always having the problem of loading the page or it takes forever just to load a single page. Since Streamyx introduced the new RM77 package on the last festive season, I guess many people took this opportunity to subscribe or to upgrade their existing broadband service. When more and more people are using broadband and Streamyx never take the initiative to upgrade their services. Who will suffer in the end? The end-users like us. Though we're paying the same amount that we were paying one to two years ago, the quality of the service is getting worse and worse. I used to have the speed up to 57kbps for downloading few months back, but what I'm having now is less than half of it, only 14kbps. Sigh....this is what I don't like in Malaysia. Let me recall back what I learnt in my Economics. When demand increases --> Supply increases. Am I correct? But in Malaysia, when demand increases --> Supply remains unchange. They're earning more and more money as more and more subcribers subcribed to their service. They never thought of improving themselves so that the users will be very happy using their services. They only think of MONEY, MONEY and MONEY!!

Say NO to Coffee!

0 comments

Oh my oh my....look at the time now...it's 5am right now and why am I still awake at this odd hour? I should have been sleeping very soundly at this hour but not on tonight. It's all because of the stupid cup of coffee that I drank yesterday evening at Star Cruises. The power of caffeine is really "wow"...I had the coffee in between 3-6pm and it can keep me stay awake after 12 hours. My disgestion system is slow or what??!!
It has been such a long time since I last drank coffee...guess it had been more than 3 years since the last time I really had a cup of coffee for myself. Why do I remember so clearly the last time I took coffee? It is because I have not been a student for close to 2 years now. That means no burning midnight oil for close to 2 years. Never had my coffee back in Australia...only Milo...Milo...Milo.
Ok I got to admit, I was a better student when I was in Australia...still burnt midnight oil during exam period but not so much of "last-minute" studies. Not so much of keeping awake whole night long just to study for the exam except for the very last exam paper that I sat as a student.
I was a "just-in-time" (that's how LKC described) student way back to Inti College. Doubled-coffee (2 packs of Nescafe 3-in-1 in a go) could really kept me awake whole night long during the exam period but I will never ever finish the whole syllabus even till the very last minute before entering the exam hall. Without Nescafe, I guess I'd have failed most of the papers. But it wasn't a pleasant experience at all because my hands were shaking most of the time and always felt like vomitting throughout the night and also not to forget, going in and out from the toilet due to my allergy to dairy products (Nescafe contains creamer...creamer, I think is made off some dairy thingy)
After not touching the books (the educational type of books, I mean) for such a long period, I never really had to stay awake whole night long. (Going out to have fun...surely not counted lah! ) But soon, I will have to stay awake during the weekends because the migration project for Star Cruises will be starting in a week time. My work will only start on the late evening till dawn the next day. Guess Nescafe will be the best way to help me to stay awake during this period of time.
I learnt a lesson today - Say NO to Coffee if I don't intend to stay awake whole night long. It kills...I mean, it really kills. No kidding.

Holidays

0 comments

Wow, I'm blogging from my Ipoh home. Got Streamyx installed at my Ipoh home now. I can online at anytime now even when I'm back to Ipoh.
Well, I just got back from my holiday to Betong, Thailand. It wasn't my plan to go there in the first place. I planned to go to either Pulau Pangkor or Cameron Highlands but ended up when to Thailand. Mum called and informed me that my brother will be going to Betong on Monday and asked whether I would like to follow or not. Since I hadn't been to this place before, so why not?
Our journey to Betong started at 2pm on Monday and we drove for almost 3 hours from Ipoh. Betong is not famous for anything except for the "terrorist attacks", the red light districts and also the communists. There isn't much things to do over there, except eat, massage and prostitutions. Didn't take much photos as there isn't anything special. Went to a communist village named "Yau Yee Chuen" (Friendship Village) and walked a tunnel built by the communist back in 1977. Learnt a little bit of the history but not going to blog about it here since my history is a "limited company" and I don't seem to remember very well no matter how hard I try. Will upload the photos when I'm free.
Oh...it's already Tuesday, few more days I'll have to go back to the hell aka KL. A boring and stressful place. Sigh...I should really enjoy my one week holiday. Oh yeah, it's the Nine Goddess Month now. Might be going to the Tow Boo Keong tonight to "jip sun". Signing off now...happy holiday!

I've been logging in to this blogger for many times. There are so many things that I would like to blog about. I want to blog about this and about that

I can't blog about that because I know that person will read my blog. For sure, he'll know I'm complaining about him in my blog and I don't know what will he do to me. There won't be any advantages to me if he knows about it. To play safe, better don't blog about that.
I want to blog about this but not too sure whether this thing is true or not. If it's not true, then I might be making a rumour, which I think better don't blog about this also. Some people might find this something to proud off, but some might think that it's so shameful. I'm not very close with both of them, so I don't really know how do they look at this matter. But I guess, to them, it's something to be very proud off, because I knew about it through somewhere very popular and it can be accessed by many many people. To play safe again, I'm not going to blog about this too.
As a conclusion, you can just ignore this post as I've not been blogging about anything but it's too late to ignore this post right now if you manage to read until this point. Oh yes...something just came to my mind. I haven't introduce my new friend to you all.

Happy mid autumn festival!

0 comments

Tomorrow will be the Mid Autumn Festival or better known as Moon Cake Festival. I was supposed to go to Star Cruises in Port Klang early in the morning tomorrow. But according to one of the staff there, she told me that they'll be a high tide tomorrow morning. So I'll have to be there a bit later tomorrow to avoid the high tide. So then I asked her, isn't it normal that there will always have hugh tide and low tide. She told me that this high tide is due to the 15th day of the 8th Month in the lunar calendar. That means it's the Mid Autumn Festival. Then I asked her again, isn't it happen every year? She told me that it only happens once in every few year. The last high tide was 5 years back. I always find that Lunar Calendar is always the greatest as our datuk and nenek moyang were really good in calculating. On the every 15th day of the month, we'll always get the full moon. But one thing that I really don't understand is that in the Roman calendar, we'll have a leap year in every 4 yours. I understand why we'll have this leap year in every 4 years. But in the Lunar calendar, we'll have a "yun yuet" (don't know what it's called, that means in certain years you'll have the same month for twice). Like this year, we were celebrating 2 times of the Hungry Ghost Month (the 7th month). Hmm...really wonder how they did they calculate it? Anyway, since today is the 14th, it's my beloved niece, cid-cey-ceow's birthday. Happy Birthday, my dearest cid-cey-ceow!

Answer

2 comments

Yeah...someone smart got the Riddle correctly. The answer is

Cock = 1
Hen = 29
Chicken = 70

For more explanations on how to get the answer, check out the complicated linear equation that Paullie used to get the answer from here.

But someone is even smarter than Paullie and that will be Mich. Paullie, Mich and myself will have KFC for 1 week...whew...

KFC --> Fattening --> More workout in gym --> Leaving the office asap to burn off the calories.

Have a nice day!

Riddle of the day

3 comments

Something to let you guys to think about it. It's nice to let your brain to work once in a while.
You are given RM100 and asked to buy some chickens, hens and cocks.

The price for each
Cock = RM6
Hen = RM3
Chicken = RM0.10

The only catch is you have to spend exactly RM100 to buy exactly 100 units of the combined chickens, hens and cocks. What is the correct combination?
p/s: Will reveal the answer in my next post.

It's 1st Oct

I Love White

1 comments

It has been a while since the last time I changed my blogskin. Was browsing through the BlogSkin's website, trying to get some new blogskin for my site but it doesn't seem like there's one that can catch my attention. I'm feeling very boring with the skin that I'm having now. It was actually not my ideal skin, but at that time I was too lazy to find other subtitutes to replace it and I actually did alot of modifications on that skin. So I've decided to stick to that skin until I have the motivation to find a better skin.
White is always my favourite colour among other colours like black, blue and pink. I like other colours too but white will always catch my attention first and my priority will definitely be the white colour. I will always find that the white colour clothing is always the nicest even though some people say that you'll actually look fatter with lighter colours, but I just don't know why I will still choose the white one. Most of the people would prefer to buy black dress/ night gown, I don't find black dresses are nice at all. Maybe you'll look very elegant in black dress, but to me, I will definitely choose white dress rather than the dull black dress.
Anyway, I'm just talking nonsense here. I just want to tell you guys why I changed my blogskin to something very very very simple and plain. The reason is because I love white!
There are some websites that I'll visit to look for new blogskins. Just wanna share with you all if you all are bored with the blogskin that you're using right now.

Tag: 10 of life's simple pleasure

0 comments

"Name 10 of life's simple pleasures that you like the most, then pick 10 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative; try not to use things that someone else has already used."
  1. waking up LKC by tickling him and "wrestle" with him on the bed early in the morning
  2. the process of preparing a meal - searching for the recipe, buying the ingredients, cutting and preparing the ingredients, trying the taste while cooking it and finally satisfying the outcome when everyone's enjoying it
  3. an outing with friends that I hardly meet and spending time updating each others
  4. karaoke session, dinner/ lunch, shopping, movies or yum char with a few close friends on the weekend
  5. just staying at home and spending time with LKC and my family, especially cid-cey-coew
  6. working out at the gym
  7. having a nice meal - nevermind about the price, as long as it's worthy
  8. spending time reading blogs, blogging, surfing websites, chatting, i.e anything that can be done with internet connection
  9. going to somewhere not familiar at all just for the food
  10. travelling to other countries and spending time there to adapt myself with the new environment

I tag...Fei Pin, Chun Nee, Kate, Paullie

Aiyah...I only got 4 people in my list, but nvm-lah...it's enough already

84 days more

1 comments

Went to Matta Fair yesterday afternoon to re-book my Korea trip with LKC. At last, my Korea trip is confirmed! Will be going to Korea on the 17th Dec...yahoo! It's a 6 days trip to Seoul, Nami Island Suwon and last but not least a ski tour! Hahaha...it's gonna be winter. Sigh, the trip is more expensive than the last trip that we booked. An extra of RM600 per person, but nvm lah, LKC is paying for the whole trip, I need not worry bout it...hehehe. All I need is to save money to buy the winter wear, which I always wanted to buy. It's gonna be Christmas season...finally, I can celebrate a white christmas this time. I tried skiing before back in Australia, but never enjoyed myself that time, the ski equipment was soooooo heavy and I was at the ski resort for only one day. There wasn't enough time for me to really experience it. It's gonna be different this time, I will be staying at Hyundai Sungwoo Ski Resort for one night. Will have enough time to play and the most interesting part will be making a snow man with my LKC. I wanted to go to Jeju Island but they did not offer a 6 days trip that included Jeju Island. If I were to choose Jeju Island, then I will be going to Shanghai instead of Seoul and it will be a 8 days trip. I had been enjoying the Korean BBQ last two months, wonder whether the one that I had in Malaysia is the same as those that are in Korea. Hmm...will be able to find out soon. Korea, here I come!

Most of them never read my blog...but never mind lar, wish them Happy Birthday also larrr. At least I wish them. Hahaha...see I already said in my earlier post, September is a peak season. Happy birthday to you guys and gals. Wishing you all have a happy life always and may all you wishes come true. To those that already have bf/ gf, then wishing both of you will get married soon and don't forget to invite me to be your "jie mui" or "heng dai". And to those haven't found your Mr. Right or Miss Right, then wishing you all will find them as soon as possible. Happy birthday once again!
p/s: If I missed anyone out from the list, a thousand apologies!
