Krabi 2009

While we're still uncertain with where to go this year-end and still uncertain if there is anymore oversea trip for this year, we've just made a booking to Krabi for next year April. Thanks to the 1,000,000 free seats from Air Asia. Krabi has always been one of the destination that I would like to visit after reading some good review from some blogs. I'm feeling excited about this trip though it is still a long way to go.
Confirmed flight
This time it's gonna be something different from our previous trip as we will have to be the tour guide, planning for place to stay, places to visit, activities to do, what to makan and etc. A lot of researches need to be done and perhaps someone can give us some recommendations.

P/s: Matta Fair is around the corner (5th - 7th Sept). Happy shopping for your holiday!

Finally, we went to Genting Highlands on last Wednesday for a 3 days 2 nights trip. Some had made fun of me for staying in Genting Highlands for so many days. Seriously I tell you, 3 days 2 nights were just nice for us, neither too long nor too short. Let me share with you our itinerary for this trip.

13th August 2008 (Day 1)
Arrived at First World Hotel at around 3pm and only managed to check-in at around 4pm. We booked the 888 Deals! Holiday Packages, which was only RM38.80 per room + breakfast for 2, quite a good deal huh??!!

We had our buffet dinner at the Coffee Terrace @ Lobby Floor, Genting Hotel. They were having Singapore Food Promotion which featuring Singapore hawker specialities. The buffer dinner cost RM55++ per pax. Luckily I brought my Citibank credit card along, which we were entitled to 10% discount.

The food were divided into 6 different kitchens like Local Favourites, Nyonya, Japanese, Western, Chinese, Indian and Middle Eastern. In the Local Favourites kitchen, they served meal like Hainanese chicken rice, curry laksa, ulam, Ipoh hor fun and etc. I don't remember what type of dishes they served at the Nyonya kitchen. Should be some Nyonya dishes like sambal petai Pasta, grilled chicken, barbequed lamb, mushroom soup and pastries were served in the Western kitchen. Sushi, sashimi and miso soup were some of the famous Japanese food served in the Japanese kitchen. In the Indian and Middle Eastern kitchens, they served food like chapati/ roti canai/ tosai/ naan (either one), curry chicken, lamb and etc. Apart from these 6 kitchens, they also have a salad bar and a dessert counter.

After dinner, we went to the open car park in front of Genting Hotel to catch some fresh and cool air. The weather was just so nice. We camwhored a bit here and there while enjoying the cool breeze.

Yes, it's us again
Then, we walked back in to the Genting Hotel and played a few games of basketball at the arcade centre before heading to the casino. A Genting trip will never complete without a visit to the casino. Well, guess what. The guard asked for my I.C for verification purpose. Do I look like below 21 years of age? I wonder??!!
Anyway, we did not play any of the game in the casino. LKC wanted to contribute RM50 for me to bet, but I'm really a kiasu human being. I'm always afraid of losing the money. That was why I chose not to bet, in this case I will always win...hehehe. It was almost in the midnight when we left the casino and walked back to our room. We called it a day after taking shower and watched the drama Moonlight Resonance on my lappie.

14th August 2008 (Day 2)
We woke up as early as 9.30am to have our free buffet breakfast at the First World Cafe. Food like nasi lemak, porridge, steam pau, sausages, baked beans, ham, cereals, omelet, fried carrot cake and pastries were served on the buffet tables. After breakfast, we headed back to the room to shower and prepare ourselves for the exciting theme parks.
We bought the All-Day Pass which sold for RM51 per pax. We started off with the thrill rides at the outdoor theme park. We didn't really expect the place could be so crowded as it was the Hungry Ghost Festival that day. Some of the rides that we had were bumper boat, grand-prix fun kart, pirate ship, spinner, flying dragon and rolling thunder mine train. I didn't manage to play some of the most thrilling rides like Cyclone, Sungai Rejang Flume Ride, Corkscrew and Space Shot as my dearest LKC only has "sesame" guts (jee ma tam).

Later in the afternoon, my brother, sister-in-law and my niece, cid-cey-ceow arrived at Genting Highlands and checked-in to their room. After checking in, we headed to Hou Mei Noodle House at Level 2, First World Plaza for our late lunch. Both LKC and I ordered the chicken rice, which was expensive and not tasty at all. After lunch, we babysitted cid-cey-ceow and brought her to the theme parks, while my bro and his wife went to the casino.
Tea cup, pirate train, antique car, Matahari (ferris wheel) and double deck carousel were some of the family rides we played with cid-cey-ceow. We looked like a happy family.

While bro and sis-in-law had their dinner, I brought cid-cey-ceow back to room and allowed her to take some nap and LKC went to Starbucks to online. We had our dinner at Pizza Factory @ Highlands Hotel. We ordered the Double Delight Set that cost RM35++ per set that came with a regular pepperoni delight pizza, 3 pieces of garlic bread, 3 pieces of chicken wings and 2 cans of Coke.

After dinner, we went to the arcade centre and played a few games of the basketball and some other arcade games to win more tickets for the prize redemption. Spent a total of RM30 on the arcade games for 2 nights, but only managed to redeem a bowl and a cup for cid-cey-ceow.
As the indoor theme park only closed at 12am, we made full use of our all-park unlimited rides pass and played the last game of bumper car and 4D Motion master.

15th August 2008 (Day 3)
Woke up as early as 9am to have our free buffet breakfast again. After breakfast, we went back to the room to wash up and pack our stuff. We checked out at 12noon and went back home. Bro, sis-in-law and cid-cey-ceow stayed overnight at KL before returning to Ipoh on Saturday afternoon. Everyone was very tired and went back home to sleep in the afternoon. At around 7pm, we brought bro to have Ma La Sichuan steamboat at Jin Shan Cheng restaurant @ Dataran Mentari, Sunway (will review this restaurant soon) for dinner. After dinner, we walked around Sunway Pyramid to burn off some calories. Before heading home, we stopped by at the Tesco to buy some beers. Bro bought 4 large bottles of Tiger beers, 6 cans of Guiness Stout and another 3 cans of Anchor Strong beers for our drinking session. We played Big 2 and the one lost in the game was punished to drink. We called it a day when bro started to get drunk.

Just to mark the auspicious date 08.08.08. Heard that many people are registering their marriage today because of the auspicious number 080808. LKC's boss, the one who went Bali with us is registering today too. Happy Newly Wed, Mr. Sky! And also, it's the opening of the Beijing Olympics tonight. Errr...Happy Olympics (wtf??!!).

The Dark Knight

So, like the rest of the world, we finally watched The Dark Knight on last Wednesday evening...but we only managed to catch the first 30 minutes of the movie due to some family issue, refer to the previous post here. I think horr...The Dark Knight is cursed lor. Why I said so?
Lets talk about Heath Ledger aka The Joker, one of the lead actor in the movie. His role as a joker was very outstanding and the performance was just superb...I only watched the first 30 minutes, could really tell that he is a very good actor. But too bad, the broke back mountain actor died shortly after the movie.
Next, Edison Chen. Though he only appeared in the film for only 5 seconds or less, the curse is so strong. He was involved in the scandal and tarnished his reputation in the Hong Kong entertainment industry.
Few months later, the Batman, Christian Bale was arrested in connection with an alleged verbal assault on his mother, Jenny and sister, Sharon. Though the curse is not so strong on this Batman, but wtf?
Shortly after that, Morgan Freeman got involved in an accident.
Wow wow wow...you see you see. The curse was so strong but it was not just involving the actors in the film. Even the people watching the movie will kena the curse also. You see, I got the bad news shortly after the movie started. Luckily I only watched the first 30 minutes, it was a short period compared to the actors making the movie. The issue got resolved in the next day evening. What if I finish the whole movie, which is 2 hours 32 minutes? I think my family issue might take longer to get resolved then. Not only that, LKC's friend also said so. After watching The Dark Knight, his soccer betting all lost also.

Home Sweet Home

Something happened to my family on Wednesday that I had to rush back to Ipoh with sis on that night itself. Got the news from sis when I was watching The Dark Knight at 1-U. I was stoned, I was lost. I didn't know what to do. Called but no one picking up. SMS but no one replying. Finally received reply from bro telling us everything was fine and asked us not to go back. Thank God we made the right decision this time. The journey back to Ipoh was one of the longest journey I ever had, though I was speeding at 140km/hr with my 6 years old super rat (my Kelisa, just in case you didn't know I named it Super Rat).
Home is just so empty and quiet without them being around. Luckily we have Cid-cey-ceow (my niece) to entertain us that night. She didn't really understand what happened, she was just too happy to see both my sis and myself arrived at home.
The night was long, everyone at home couldn't really sleep well. Thousand calls had been made, but none got connected. Finally we were really relieved after receiving the call in the afternoon. Everyone looked really tired. Dad and mum looked 5 years older that day. Thank God everyone was fine and everything solved in the evening.
I wish I could share what happened but my blog has been "exposed" to the world due one of the post, which has been removed now. This is no longer my personal blog. Anyway, thanks to everyone for being so caring especially to my dearest LKC for being so supportive.

P/s: I need to clarify that I didn't cry when you guys called me. I'm having flu since last week. Don't worry. LKC has told me numerous times to be strong.
