24th - 26th Dec

Been quite busy during the weekend. On Friday night, went to Kepong to have steamboat dinner with Chun Nee, Cheng Ghee and Lik Cheong. Last minute plan, that's why didn't ask Fei Pin and Lala to go along...*pai seh**pai seh* Came home at around 10 something and online till quite late at night. Waited until 2 something in the morning only showered hehehe....a bit dirty. Chatted with Tarmizee, Paullie and Lik Cheong until 4 something in the morning, couldn't stand anymore, went to sleep and woke up at around 10am.Finally solved the viewing problem of my blog site. Thanks to Paullie for the help. Really appreciate that.

Saturday, Christmas Eve - Larry, the fei cai colleague, fong fei kei coz planned to watch King Kong at Mid Valley in the evening and to have dinner at Klang after the movie. Kanasai Larry, sent messages to me telling me that he had to have dinner with the prospects. Ooohh...so potong steam...luckily I was chatting with Lik Cheong the whole afternoon. Planned with him on what to do on Christmas Eve. Didn't feel like just staying at home and doing nothing. Oh come on, it's Christmas Eve, we have to go out and celebrate it. So ended up, going to Genting Highlands with him, Fei Pin and Faye. Met Pui Yee at Genting Highlands and celebrated the night with her and the gang. Everyone had their santa's hat on, and the celebration is Genting Highlands was not bad. We had our countdown at the Times Square, First World Hotel.

After counting down, walked around the hotels and at the end, sat at Starbucks and chit-chat. We left Genting Highlands at around 4am. Managed to reach home at around 4.45am. Sorry Lik Cheong for picking up your call but didn't say anything...pai seh pai seh. Was sleeping very soundly when you called. Next time call few more times, ok?

Sunday, Christmas Day - Woke up at 8am after receiving someone's message, and rushed to his house but couldn't help him much also. Just sat there and chit-chat only. Then around 12noon, went to KLIA to pick up my dearest LKC. He's back from US. Finally! Headed back home after that and just slept, slept and slept for the whole afternoon. Tired lah...not enough of sleep. Was supposed to go to Augustin's house for Christmas dinner, but forgotten lah...too tired, slept until 7 something. Went to Kepong to eat steamboat (again) coz LKC said he wanted to eat some Chinese food, no more cheese, steak, maggi mee, pizza for him. Played a few games of Big 2 with LKC and called it a day at around 2am.

Monday, Boxing Day- Got up at around 9 something, watched some cartoons and went to SS14 to eat Bak Kut Teh. After brunch, went to Sunway Pyramid for window shopping. Headed back home at around 3pm and LKC left to Ipoh at 4.30pm. Ironed my clothes and prepared to go to Mid Valley to have dinner with Alex, Lily, Lin Zhen, Yee How and another 2 friends (forgot their names). It's exactly 1 year that 5 of us (Alex, Lily, Lin Zhen, Yee How and I) met again and had a reunion. Still remember very well that 5 of us were in Australia last year and went for a trip to Hunter Valley on the Boxing Day. After dinner, watched King Kong with Larry and his friends. After movie, headed back home and called it a day.

Need HTML expert!

Can someone who is good in HTML help me out? As you view my blog, do you notice that my sidebar (Profile, Archieve etc) is at the bottom of the page (after the blogs)? Why is it like this? This only happens when I use Internet Explorer to view it. The sidebar is perfectly at the top of the page when I use Mozilla Firefox to view the page. Why is it like that? Is there any setting I need to change so that it views perfectly in both I.E and Mozilla? Or do I need to change any of the HTML commands like the width the alignment or something? Need HTML guru. I find it quite annoying when I view it with I.E. Need to settle this problem asap.

From naive to mature?

It's Dec 23rd now, 2 days before Christmas. Christmas used to be just a 'holiday' to me when I was still young, somehow the meaning of Christmas is changing every now and then. Still remember, I had a Christmas party at my grandma's place when I was 4 years old. My grandma and uncle are Christian, that was the reason why we organized a Christmas party on the eve of Christmas. That time I was still very young, couldn't remember much what was happening and why we had a party at my grandma's place, but there was one thing that I could still remember very clearly. When we were counting down, 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1, the first thing that I heard wasn't 'Merry Christmas', it was 'oopss sorry, Keong (my uncle's name), I opened the champagne for you' from one of my uncle's colleague. Everyone was laughing as my uncle was supposed to open the champagne and not his colleague. After that, the party continued.

As I'm getting older, I have my own ways of celebrating Christmas. The first time I did not go home after clubbing was 9 years ago, when I was 16 years old then. That was the night before Christmas also. Mei Yin, Wai Mun, Sit and me and Wai Mun's cousins and friends went to Yahoo! (better known as Y2K now) in Ipoh to celebrate the Christmas. This was the craziest and most stupid night that I ever had in my life. We did not get drunk or anything that night. Wai Mun followed her cousin went back home after the party. So only left me, Mei Yin and Sit. That was already 2-3am. Try to imagine, that time 3 of us were just 16, no driving license, no motorcycle license, and it was already so late at night, what type of transportation is the most convenient for us? The answer is Bus No. 11 (for those of you who don't know what Bus No. 11 is, it means walking). We walked from Ipoh Garden East to the Ipoh town, those who are from Ipoh, should know how far it is. It'll probably take about 20 minutes of driving without traffic jam. It took us around 3 hours to walk, if i'm not mistaken. We reached the town at around 6am and the funny part was we had our dim sum breakfast before we took a cab home. This was very crazy as we did not think of the dangers that could happen. It was very lucky for us as nothing big happened, only being chased by some dogs.

2 years later...when I was 17, just finished SPM, thought of having some fun to reward the hard work that I put in the exam. So organised a Christmas party at another house of mine which was left empty. Invited quite a number of people, couldn't recall who came actually. Had some present-exchange session, played some childish games and the end of the party.

After I joined college, the way I celebrated Christmas had changed also. As I'm getting older, I would prefer to sit in a cafe with some close friends and chit-chat with each others and updates each other with the latest gossips rather than going to those places where you have to shout and scream just to ask someone to pass the drinks to you. Or catch a latest movie in a cinema is a nice way to celebrate this special day as well.

As my age is getting higher and higher, the way I look at things changed. The way I celebrated Christmas changed. The way I behave changed. Am I getting old? Yes I think so. There are two sayings, 'You're old when you turn your happy-hour to nap' and 'You're old when you plan to buy a property'. These two sayings match me 100%...hahaha. I look young physically but I'm old mentally. Oh goshh....is this a good thing?

Why there can be such a jerk still living in this world? How can a guy be so 'kecil hati' or should I say 'too sensitive'? Okie, you guys must be wondering what is going on. The story starts like this...

On one fine morning, before dawn actually, around 6 something in the morning, I was awake to turn on my notebook cause I need to talk with my LKC thru MSN. Normally I would just leave my notebook on whole night, but on the night before, my sister shut down the notebook for me. So when I was connected to the Internet, I received a yahoo message from this jerk. Here is how the conversation goes...

Jerk: Morning Lisan. Can I ask you something?

Lisan: Morning, what is it?

Jerk: May I know how many festivals are chinese celebrating? I need it for my assignment.

For god's sake, how do I know how many festivals are there? I'm not the traditional chinese. I don't celebrate all the festivals even if I do, how can I name everything out early in the morning when I was still half asleep? So I didn't reply him and talked with my LKC with my eyes still closing. I was totally forgot about this conversation till just now, I sent a message to him.

Lisan: Hiya. Sorry I didn't reply your message the other day. I fell asleep.

Jerk: It's ok. When I needed your help, you don't want to help. I asked my friend already. It's ok. I got to go now. Bye.

Ok, I was wrong for not telling you. But god knows why, how do I know? Maybe I could help you out when you ask me this kind of question during day time, not in the morning, ok, uncle? Not that I don't want to help you when you needed my help. The timing was not right when you asked me that question. I was very upset cause you think I am this kind of person. Am I wrong for not answering your question? Try to put yourself on someone's shoe. Maybe your brain is working perfectly early in the morning, but not for me. Perhaps I was still half aslept when I asked you what I can do for you. I was very wrong for asking you this question. Perhaps I should just ignore your message and go back to sleep or just talk with my LKC.

Underwater World

Langkawi trip

This is my first trip to Pulau Langkawi and first time to join a company's trip. Accommodation, transportation and food were all paid by the company. One word that best describes this trip....*marvellous*. It was quite fun cause I got to see all my colleagues (not all lar actually) whom I only met once or twice since I started to work. What to do...we're at every part of Klang Valley for different projects. This is the best time to meet each other and get to know each other "better". Went there for 3 days 2 nights, stayed at Pelangi Beach and Resort Spa, which is a 4-stars resort, but to me it should be more than 4 stars cause the resort is very very nice. Around 40 plus people joined this trip, 24 of which are my colleagues and bosses. The rest are their family members.

Day 1(Saturday 17th Dec 05)

Arrived in KLIA at 9am and gathered. The flight was delayed for almost 30 minutes. The flight took off at around 10.45am and landed in Langkawi airport at 11.45am. Got up to a damn lousy bus and brought us a Thai restaurant just next to the Underwater World. The food, as usual, sucks cause the restaurant is mainly doing the tourists' business...how can the food be tasty ler? After lunch, went to the Underwater World to look at the marine creatures. The aquarium is not as nice as in Singapore. I'd still prefer the one in Singapore. After visiting Underwater World, we went to a Gamat (sea cucumber) Factory. The gamat is used as a traditional medicine to cure minor cuts and wounds. It is said that you won't hurt your fingers even when the gamat medicine is boiling. After visiting the gamat factory, we paid a visit to Makam Mahsuri. Watched a video about the famous Mahsuri and watched my hand with the water in the Telaga Mahsuri. Next we went to Perdana Galleria. This is the place where our former Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir keeps all the gifts and sourvenirs he received from different parts of the world. Next, we headed for our dinner at Pat Poh Restaurant in the town. The overall trip was nice but the rain really spoilt the mood. After dinner, we headed back to the resort. Took a shower and went to one of my colleague's room. We played blackjack, chit-chatting with each other and of course not to forget, drink...drank...drunk! Went back to the room at around 1am and called it a day.

Day 2 (Sunday 18th Dec 05)

Woke up at 7am to wash up and prepare for breakfast. Had some nasi lemak and American breakfast. At 9am, prepared myself for a whole-day teambuilding session. Thought it'd be a boring day cause no idea what they were going to do during the session. Thanks to Mr. Shahrill, the facilitor from Singapore. Had a personality test to find out what kind of person I am. I am a type 'I' person, which means happy-go-lucky. I guess the test is quite accurate cause I am really a very 'cincai' person. I don't aim things to be perfect. As long as I'm satisfied with it, then everything will be fine. Played some silly elephant-cow-monkey-JohnTravolta-and-ElvisPresley-game. Besides that, we played some other games where we were required to work as a team to solve the problem. Besides that, we also played 'The Apprentice' game, where we were grouped according to our personality type. We were required to 'build' a property (using some magnets) and sell our property to 'Mr. Donald Trump'. After that, we played another game where we were given some pipes and marbles. The marbles are our customers and the pipes are the processes. We were required to transfer the 'customers' through the 'processes' to the final destination. We were required to figure out how to transfer the 'customers' without dropping it. At first, we were competing with one another to meet our targeted goal, but at the end of the game we all were working together to meet the targeted goal. The game was very nice as we learnt how to help each other us. I guess that is the purpose of the session. Next, we played a game called 'Magic Rope'. Why is it called as 'Magic Rope'? The goal for the game is to drop the rope on the ground. The rope was placed on our fingers and we were required to drop it on the ground. Somehow, the rope will never drop on the ground no matter how many times we tried. The rope will go up and up and everyone blamed one another for pushing up the rope. That is the reason why it is called as 'Magic Rope'. Two thumbs up for the overall session. Everyone seems to enjoy themselves very much during the session. After the session, we headed back to our room to wash up and rest. At around 8pm, we had our BBQ Seafood Buffet. The food was not as nice as expected but it is quite expensive. It costs about RM90 per person. After the dinner, we went to the beach to catch the fresh breeze. I caught a baby crab and kept it in a glass. What is wrong for catching a crab? That is one of the game you play by the seaside, right? But my colleagues were not thinking like that. They find it very cruel and nagging me to send the crab back to the beach. But I didn't bother, I just left it to the garden as we had to attend a lucky-draw session after that. Before the prize giving session started, we had a 'sport day' for the children. The kids were also received a present each. Finally, lucky draw for the adults. It wasn't a lucky draw actually, the boss just said that no. 7 to no. 21 got the consolation prizes which were RM50 vouchers from MPH, Metrojaya and Jaya Jusco. No. 1 to no. 6 would got the bigger prize. Lucky Yean Kwang, she got the grand prize which is RM1000 travel voucher to travel to anywhere she wants. The session ended after the prize giving session for long-service rewards. Mr Hari (the MD), Hu Ghee (one of the director), Sue and Jaya each rewarded a watch for the long-service in the company. After the prize giving session, we went to Tarmizee's room to played cards and 'drink...drank...drunk' again. Stopped the game at 12 midnight, as we received complain for being too noisy. Caught a match of soccer (Arsenal vs Chelsea) and had some chit-chat and IQ test with Larry, Yean Kwang and Jeff. Stupid me for being cheated by the Fei Cai Larry. At 2am, went back to the room and called it a day.

Day 3 (Monday 19th Dec 05)

Slept until 9.30am and washed up for breakfast. After breakfast, walked around the resort and the beach. Very unlucky for me for seeing Tarmizee, Karthi, Nantha and Arul at the beach. I was being pulled and thrown to the beach by them. Walked back to the room and had a shower and packed my things and prepared to check-out. While waiting for the lunch, had a few games of 'Big 2' with Larry, Jeff and Wai Meng. After having our lunch, we headed to Kuah town for shopping. Bought a bottle of liquor, a carton of ciggy and lots of chocolates...from Andes to Toblerone and Hershey. We left the town at around 4pm and headed to the Langkawi Airport. Boarded the 5.35pm flight and arrived KLIA at 6.35pm. Had a chat with Mr. Shahrill. My first impression to him was 'wow...this girl is so quiet and the 'kuai-kuai' lui type'. But went he got to see me more...my true colours revealed. His impression on me totally changed.

The overall trip was great and during this trip, I got 2 new nicknames...'School Girl' and 'Lilo'. Thanks Tarmizee for the 'School Girl' name, everyone is calling me 'school girl' now. And thanks to Kuha (the Director) for the 'Lilo' name. He thinks that I look like 'Lilo'. Anyway, I don't mind having so many nicknames, as long as everyone is happy and enjoyed themselves. Two thumbs up for this trip. 'One team, one vision'...hell yeah!

Girls' outing!

Went to The Curve to celebrate Chun Nee's birthday last night. We had our dinner in a Japanese restaurant, if I'm not wrong, the restaurant's name is called Sakae something. The environment was not bad as we were sitting at the corner and it was just nice for us to chit-chat. Finally we had a girls' night without having any guys around. Sometimes it's quite nice when you are going out with a few of your close friends rather than going out with one big gang, but ended up you are just talking with 2 or 3 friends. We ordered some sushi, temaki, chicken sukiyaki (yummy...slurp) and a bowl of rice with chicken (don't know the name of it). The food is not bad and the price is just reasonable. The best part of this restaurant is there's a monitor for every table. You can just order the food with a click of the mouse and the food is served quite fast. Two thumbs up for this restaurant.

After dinner, we took a few pictures at the centre court of The Curve. As Christmas is just around the corner, most of the shopping centres are decorated with christmas trees, santa clause, snow, mistletoes and etc. Manage to take some pictures but the decorations in The Curve still could not compared with Mid Valley. Mid Valley is the best! Two thumbs up again for Mid Valley. The decorations in Sunway Pyramid and 1-Utama are just so-so. Nothing much in there just some christmas trees and santa clause.

Hey, hey! Today is one of my sai lap kuan tuen's sister's birthday. Just wanna wish you a very Happy Birthday. May God bless you on this special day and throughout the 364 days. Wishing you best of luck. Hope you'll find someone whom you love and could be your life-long partner. May the guardian angels will always be by your side to take care of you. Should or shouldn't?

Oh God, please help me! Should I or shouldn't I? I made up my mind not to change and told Augustin about it. But Augustin told me that I should change since I'm given the chance. He said that if I found out that I do not like the other areas, I can always go back to Basis. Should I leave Basis? I have worked in Basis for 3 months already. Do I like it? No idea. But honestly, sometimes I find out it's quite interesting to work in Basis as we can never predict what will happen to the system. The system can be down at anytime. And I really admire how my seniors handled the problems very professionally. How can they remember all the tcodes, the unix commands. I told myself before that I wanna be as professional as them. Besides that, I really would like to have a chance to do some installations and upgrades. I saw Shu installed some Oracles patches before, she really opened my eyes to a new world. There are many things that I had not seen before, never even thought of it also, but now I really knew that our technology is really that hi-tech. Do I get the chance to see all these, what I'd liked to call, 'hi-tech' stuff if I change to other areas?

Aiii...so many things are bothering me lately. Going to meet the bosses tomorrow. Don't know what kind of questions will they ask me. Don't know what will be discussed in the meeting. Augustin told me just now that he suggested to the bosses to let the new staff (I'm one of them) to expose to different areas so that we can choose what we like. I'm doing Basis now, I'm not sure whether I like it or not. But I was thinking, since I have started on with this path, I should just continue with this path. It's kinda of wasting time if I jump to different areas, although I might get the chance to know each area, but the knowledge that I will have might only be at the basic level. But that's not what I am wishing for. I wish to be good in the area that I'm working in, which means Basis. Besides that, since Augustin is a good senior and also "tutor", he's willing to teach me everything that I asked. If so happens that I changed to another area, there isn't anyone there to teach, then how? Guess...I've made up my mind, stick back to Basis and do as good as possible. Please pray for me. Please pray for my future. Please pray for the decision that I have made! Thanks.

Finally I found myself is not useless anymore...well, not to say useless ler, just that sometimes I find myself cannot help much. But not for yesterday and today. Yesterday I was in the F&N alone with PM, while Augustin and Shu went to Maybank for meeting. I was asked by the PM to apply SNote in the DEV server. I replied with confidently that I could apply it as Augustin just taught me few days ago. Errmmm...mana tau...so many problems aroused when I tried to apply the SNote. Did this, did that, called Tarmizee, asked Mei Ken. Oh gosh...and finally, the PM asked me to send a message to the SAP. Just followed what he had instructed. Prayed for Augustin and Shu to come back to F&N asap. Sometimes not that I don't want to be independent, it's just that I do not have the confident to do it on myself. Thank God, Augustin and Shu came back at around 3pm. Explained the whole situation to Augustin and waited for SAP to reply. SAP replied, opened the OSS connection for them...but they couldn't connect! Oh God, so many problems. Tried this and that again. Didn't know they could actually connect to the server or not, but I didn't care.

I left F&N at around 6:15pm. Mummy is here in KL, so got to rush back to see her and bring her out for dinner. I've grown up to be an adult now...finally...hehehe...brought mummy to eat the porridge steamboat at Subang and paid for the dinner. Well....I'm a working adult already marrr...once in a while, need to treat them one...hahaha.

Back to work today, received reply from SAP, asked us proceed with the implementation of the SNote. Implemented in the DEV and transported it to the QAS. Yes....I did it. So happy, finally found out myself to be useful here....hehehe...

My weekend

This is my first weekend that I stayed at home and did not go anywhere except to Tesco to get my grocery done with my sis. Why I am so good staying at home for the whole weekend? That's because previously it was either my dearest LKC came to KL to pay me a visit or I went back to Ipoh for my weekend holiday. But not for this weekend. Sighh...why? My dearest LKC has gone to another country for training and I did not go back to Ipoh cause I just went back for my aunt's funeral on last Monday. No money to go back so often. What had I done on Sat and Sun?

Saturday

• woke up at 9am, lazed on the bed and watch the TVB drama "Life Made Simple" until 10-11am
• chatted with Faye and Adeline for a while
• sent a SMS to my dearest LKC to welcome his arrival in LA at 12.05pm, but no replies from him
• showered and sis called to ask me to go to Tesco with her after work
• waited for sis to come and pick me up, ended up waited for 2 hours.
• watched TV and boiled a cup of mee-in-a-cup, and that was my lunch
• came back from Tesco, cleaned the fish that we had just bought, prepared for dinner
• cooked fried fish and fried beansprout for dinner
• watched TV and TV and TV
• sent another SMS to my dearest LKC to welcome him to Chicago at 7.54pm, but yet no replies from him
• watched TV and TV and TV again
• sent another SMS to my dearest LKC again to welcome him to Boston at 11.12pm again, but still no replies from him
• waited for him to call while watching TV
• started to get worries as he was supposed to reach Boston at 11.12pm, and it was already 1 something and yet no calls from him
• showered and waited for his calls
• online to check the flight schedule in USA, but didn't understand at all
• worried, worried and worried...couldn't sleep
• watched "Life Made Simple" and finally he called at 2.33am
• sigh of relieved and went to sleep right after the call

Sunday

• Got up at 9am and wished that dearest LKC online...and yes, he did.
• had a conversation with him through MSN until 9.40am. He was sleepy, so I let him sleep
• watched TV, brushed my teeth and lied on the sofa and ate the junk food
• cooked spaghetti for lunch
• watched TV and dearest LKC woke up, chatted with him for another half an hour I guess
• watched TV and sis prepared to go out with friends
• took my afternoon nap and woke up at 6pm
• watched TV and online
• sitting here writing this blog

Guess I won't be doing much after this, just watch TV, cook dinner, online, talk with dearest LKC and sleep. I'll call it a day after talking with my LKC I guess.

My dearest LKC is flying to USA today. So upset that I couldn't have the chance to send him off in KLIA. The departure time is at 6pm, which is still my working hour. Sigh...he'll be there for 3 weeks. That means I will not be able to see him for 3 weeks. What a long duration...but one thing good...hehehe...hopefully he will buy me lots of clothes and souvenirs from USA. So worry that he'll get lost in one of the airport coz he needs to transit for 5 times before reaching Boston. Flying from Ipoh to KL, from KL to Hong Kong, from Hong Kong to Los Angeles, from Los Angeles to Chicago, and finally from Chicago to Boston...whewww....what a long flight. Hopefully he will enjoy himself there although he needs to attend training for the whole 3 weeks and not to forget, SHOPPING for my clothes, handbags, sport shoes...blah blah blah...miss him very much...love him heaps!
